That’s a mouthful, and if you’re just trying to grind out a dungeon, it can be a bit much. Of course building those relationships comes down to properly managing your afterschool time. Now, when you’re fusing, you’ll need to check the fusion forecast and see what days of the week will get you what Persona bonuses, but then you need to keep in mind your Social Links, too, as those will influence the number of moves Personas get. There are well over 150 Personas to collect, and getting them all will require you to fuse different ones together. That’s the strength and weakness of the game – it’s dauntingly huge. That’s the basic line on Persona 4 Golden, but there’s so much more going on. When a turn-based battle kicks off, the kids can call in a Persona to attack with ice moves, fire punches and so on. See, the kids are the modern day Monster Squad because they wield Personas, which are kind of like spiritual Pokemon. Think of this as a tale of super-powered, high school-aged detectives. Over the course of the game, the protagonist and his buds uncover a serial killer tossing victims into another world via TV screens, and the group of high schoolers is the only thing that can save the day. It's shorter than Persona 5 (which itself is a content-colossus) but with approx 80 - 100 hrs it's still filled with content and an amazing plot with some of the most intriguing characters with whom you'll share fun and wholesome moments. Let me emphasize this one more time: It's one of the best games ever made. The graphics: I mean sure they're outdated in 2023 and in 2008 there were games out there that looked better (FF 12 for example), but the game still looks good and seriously this game is too f'n good to be reduced to it's graphics and thus be missed out on. The dungeons itself have a specific theme to the characters they belong to, since the dungeons design is a product of the characters subconsciousness. The 80 - 100 hrs are a mix of going to school, developing your relationships with people (Social Links as they are called in-game), spending time with friends, working part-time jobs and clearing the dungeons. Like really long but it never feels like it artificially stretches things out. An amazing cast of characters that genuinely feel like your real friends and about whom you'll shed a couple of tears when this game ends. A peaceful rural town that's suddenly hunted by a mysterious serial killer and a protagonist who discovers that there is an alternate world inside the TV's. There is no other composer whose music upgrades and fits a game so much as his to the Persona series. Just listen to the Persona 5 or 4 OST, it's amazing. First things first I just want to say that the game's composer, Shoji Meguro, is a f'n god. First things first I just want to say that the game's composer, Shoji I'll keep this short: Play this game.
